Engagement Rings Design Your Own
Sure, you can just buy a pre-designed ring. But wouldn’t it be so much more romantic to give your loved one a ring that’s truly theirs, designed from scratch by you just for them? In the past that was very difficult to do – Now however, you can easily design your own engagement ring with almost as little effort as it takes to buy a generic ring!
How does the whole process work? Here’s a quick step by step walkthrough of how to design your own engagement ring.
Before You Start – Your Budget
Before you even start looking at your ring, spend a little bit of time thinking about your budget. How much money do you want to spend on this ring?
Keep in mind that the ring is something that’s going to represent your relationship for a long time to come.
That said, you shouldn’t break the bank over the ring either.
Choosing the Band Material
The first step is to choose what the material of the band is made of. You can usually choose from white or yellow gold and platinum.
If you’ve never tried on any of these options, it may be a good idea to just visit a ring store to see what they look like in person before designing your own.
This is also the time to choose your ring size. Again, if you don’t know what your ring size or your significant other’s ring size is, you should probably find out before placing your order.
Choosing the Diamond Settings
The settings are basically “how the diamonds will be placed.”
The most basic setting is one diamond in the middle. Another relatively basic setting is one diamond in the middle with smaller diamonds around it.
Of course, there are all kinds of more complicated settings. You can have several diamonds on the ring, diamonds arranged in intricate patterns, etc.
Choosing the Diamond
There’s a lot that goes into selecting the diamond you want.
The first thing to choose is how big you want your diamond to be. This is determined in terms of how many carats your diamond is. The larger the diamond, the more expensive it is.
Then the next step is to select how you want your diamond to be cut. You can have a square diamond, an oval diamond, a round diamond, just to name a few possible variations.
Finally, select what color you want your diamond to be. Diamonds can have different “shades” of color. Some diamonds are perfectly clear, while others may have a yellowish or bluish tint. Most people get clear diamonds, but a colored diamond can really add some personality to your ring.
Finally, choose whether you want to buy a diamond with any imperfections in it or not. If you buy a diamond that has zero flaws, that’ll be more expensive as well. Often times you can get a diamond that has some invisible flaws for less than a diamond that’s flawless.
Once you have all your options selected, then all you need to do is place your order. Designing your own ring is as simple as that!
